New York City - Rennert

School: NYC Adventure camps are organized by Rennert and all the classes take place in the Rennert NYC which is located in Midtown Manhattan, just a short distance from Grand Central Terminal, The Chrysler Building and the United Nations Headquarters. Times Square is a 15-minute walk or just one subway stop from Rennert. The city never sleeps with the lights of Broadway, the magic of Times Square, museums, skyscrapers, shopping, restaurants, music and dance clubs, and teens get a chance to immerse into this atmosphere. The center has 37 modern, newly-renovated and air-conditioned classrooms where students can benefit from free WiFi and computer lounge. There is also a café area with vending machines for snacks, coffee and tea and friendly, helpful staff.

Accommodation: Students lodge in 1760 Residence right in the heart of Manhattan. They are placed in double or triple ensuite rooms according to their age and sex.

Teachers: Teachers are native speakers certified to teach English as a foreign language. They use a communicative teaching method where conversation is emphasized in the classroom. Maximum class participation from students is encouraged. Teachers speak for approximately 15% of the class time and students speak 85% of the time.

Students: There's a mix of over 30 nationalities.

Supervision: Full-time supervision

Keeping in touch with your kid: the language school has a free Wi-Fi coverage. So, parents can easily contact their kids through Skype or other messengers.

DANCE ACADEMY & ENGLISH

Dance Academy is an intensive program which gives you real time to practice in state-of- the-art facilities. Here are combined professional dance lessons at the famous Broadway Dance Center and top-quality English instruction. You can learn about celebrity choreographers and review dance styles and techniques. On weekdays in the morning the students have group English lessons. The groups are formed on the basis of the test results and age. The classes are based on the communicative approach and focus on major language skills - speaking, listening, writing and reading. The 2nd 2 English classes are centered around the topic of choreography. In the afternoon (after lunch) 3 times per week students have dance classes at Broadway Dance Center. Students can choose their style, for instance, salsa, hip-hop, ballet, street jazz, musical theatre, popping and locking. Besides, 2 times per week young dancers join in half-day excursions, for instance visit, Museum of Modern Art – MoMA, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building and 9/11 Memorial or join in concerts in the park, gallery exhibitions, food tours or stargazing at Chelsea High Line. In the evening (after dinner) students have unique New York experiences which include exploring Times Square, Bryant park, or going to karaoke.On weekends students get to see all corners of the city, such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island, 5th Avenue, and Central Park.

Coding Academy is full-immersion program which combines General English and coding courses. On the one hand you can tour the Big Apple and practice English with your new friends from all over the world, and on the other hand you can learn how to code for websites, mobile apps and front-end coding. Students take coding training 3 afternoons per week with Generation Code. On weekdays in the morning the students have group English lessons. The groups are formed on the basis of the test results and age. The classes are based on the communicative approach and focus on major language skills - speaking, listening, writing and reading.
